What a change from previous days...but I was ready for the weather and stayed warm and dry.

typicalweather

  • Around to the Atlantic side near Neil's Harbour
  • My door decoration at the lodge I stayed at on Tuesday night. Wasn't so much to look at on the outside, but the interior was very nicely furnished with a very comfy antique bed.
  • Wednesday morning prior to packing...a little fog and drizzle to start out...
  • Not exactly a nice morning, but no heavy rain, just foggy and windy.
  • Conditions when I left the lodge didn't improve and when I got to Peggy's Cove, the wind had picked up and the fog was often very thick. Still, lots of tourists out.
  • Wharf at Peggy's Cove...
  • Peggy's Cove building...interesting foundation...
  • Peggy's Cove Harbor.
  • Getting ready for the day at a shop in Peggy's cove...
  • 4000 miles...now in the fog and some drizzle!
  • What a change from previous days...but I was ready for the weather and stayed warm and dry.
  • My ride to Portland, ME from Yarmouth, NS...a huge catamaran ferry with 4, 9600HP Jet Drives...capable of 55mph, but I only saw around 42mph on my GPS during the 5.5 hour trip. Still, that is moving along and it was smoooooth!
  • No those white spots are not feathers...the seagulls have been hanging out in the ferry parking lot!
  • My bike found a bud while waiting for the ferry. The couple was from NC and was also headed back...ran into them again the next day at a rest area.
  • It was a little thick leaving the harbor on the ferry...
  • It's hard to tell the scale of this wake without a reference, but we're doing 40mph and each of those plumes is about 25' wide and 10' high...would dwarf the average runabout. Hmmmm, wonder if I could ski behind this???
  • Central cabin area of the ferry...good food, a bar (cheap beer), mini-casino, mini movie theaters and a duty free shop...
  • Finally cleared after we got a few miles off NS, nice afternoon. I had a reclining seat at a window and took a nap...
  • Sunset Wednesday night on the ferry...had to shoot through the front windows, the only area you can get outside the cabin is in the rear.
  • Nuff said...
